Japanese School Dramas

I've compiled a list of latest Japanese school dramas. These dramas were aired from Winter 2010 to Winter 2015. No Gokusen series even though I really wanted to include it!

This list will only include dramas which are:
- not only mainly set in a school but actually tackles problems in a school system, a disagreement between students, or students having trust issues with teachers.
- series and not special dramas with only one or two episodes.

This will not include dramas which are:
- mainly set in a school but centers on romance, mystery, or any other genre than school.
- Asadora and Taiga dramas.
- SPs aired in a season.

And of course, I will only include dramas which piques my interest.

While I can promise that I'll do my best to categorize the dramas, I cannot promise that it'll be perfect as categorizing some of them can be really confusing. The dramas I haven't watched yet are even more confusing to categorize. I might edit this post if sometime in the future, I think a drama fits another genre more. If you would like to suggest that a drama fits a certain genre more than where I included it, feel free to comment so I can take it into consideration.

Japanese School Dramas

Majisuka Gakuen (Winter 2010)

"Two transfer students, Atsuko Maeda and Onizuka Daruma came at the all-girls school Majisuka Gakuen. In this school, violence and fighting are common among the Yankee students. Noisy and trouble maker Daruma made a fuss as soon as she entered the school, win in her first fight but then was beaten easily by another gang shortly after. In contrary to Daruma's bold-but-powerless attitude, Maeda who is truthfully a strong girl despite of her silent nature found Daruma is beaten by Team Hormon before her. The word "Majisuka?" (means are you serious?) instantly awaken her true nature  and made her won the battle against Daruma's attackers easily, thus made a big fuss at the school and the news even reached the strongest fighting group, Rappapa. Afterwards, Daruma acknowledged Maeda as her boss and as a result the friendship between the two girls began to grow along with their fights with fellow students at their school." (from dramawiki)

I don't know what's with this drama. I tried watching a few episodes. The theme is okay, I'm fine with angst/yankee dramas but I found this one annoying somehow. Let me tell you that I like AKB48, I'm not their biggest fan but I like them that's why I gave this drama a shot. It is probably because everyone is trying hard to act. People may be able to act certain roles but it's pretty obvious the AKB48 members have very limited acting abilities during the time this was aired. This having a not-so-interesting storyline and mediocre acting from the cast probably made it worse. I didn't say the girls cannot improve their acting, I believe they can. I want to see how this goes on until the recent 4th installment, so I'm still considering to watch this one of these days. I hope the storyline has gotten more bearable and the acting of the girls have somehow improved.

HAMMER SESSION! (Summer 2010)

"Two prisoners managed to escaped after the police truck carrying them crashed. One of them is a gangster. The other called "Otowa Yonko", our protagonist, is a con artist who cheats money from criminals or terrorists. Accidentally, "Otowa Yonko" then becomes the new teacher for the nearby school, under the new name "Hachisuka Goro", and according to a deal of "Hammer Session" with the headmaster." (from dramawiki)

Aside from the interesting plot, this drama has a set of interesting cast members. By the time I watched this a few years ago, I only know Mokomichi Hayami, Shida Mirai and Ishiguro Hideo. Looking at the student list now, it seems this has been a starting step for other actors and actresses(that are of almost the same age as Shida Mirai) to carve their acting careers. Suda Masaki, Irie Jingi, Nomura Shuhei, Ryusei Ryo, Sakamoto Shogo, Takeuchi Toshi, and Yamashita Rio are all part of the cast and they are now quite active in the industry. Back to HAMMER SESSION!, there were a few boring episodes, but over all I like the drama.

Misaki Number One!! (Winter 2011)

"One day all of a sudden, Misaki, the number one hostess of a club in Roppongi becomes a high school teacher! Of all classes, she is appointed as the homeroom teacher for Class 2Z, a special class for the troublemakers at the school. But with her positive power, she takes the students head-on, without ever giving up!" (from dramawiki)

A little like Gokusen, in the aspect that the students aren't supposed to know about her background. But since Misaki has a completely different background than Gokusen's Yankumi, it's interesting on how she'll manage to open up the hearts of her students in her own way. I like this drama. Kitayama Hiromitsu and Fujigaya Taisuke are part of the cast! How nice is that?  I like Karina, she's one of my top 10 Japanese girl crushes! I like Oomasa Aya as well. I would like to re-watch this one and concentrate on finding Fukushi Sota though. I'm surprised that he was a part of the cast.

SCHOOL!! (Winter 2011)

"The drama evolves around a public elementary school beset with problems. Eguchi plays the passionate protagonist, who worked at construction sites for 20 years with a mid-sized general contractor. However, in order to keep a promise he made with his former teacher, he suddenly changes jobs and becomes the principal of his old school, which he must save from closing down." (from dramawiki)

This doesn't really interest me, I haven't watched it nor have I tried watching an episode. I am not really interested with kids or the lead actor.  However, I might watch this for Miura Shohei and Kitano Kie if ever I find some free time. I like those two so I'm not completely erasing the possibility that I'll watch this one.

Majisuka Gakuen 2 (Spring 2011)

"The story continues in the next school year after the events of the last season. The new members of Rappapa now face an even greater threat from within their own school and the surrounding schools." (from dramawiki)

It would be interesting to see if the AKB girls have upped their acting after a year. They have a tendency to overact and ruin a scene with that. I would love it if the girls act together in a drama with a more decent and engaging storyline though.

Shiritsu Bakaleya Koukou (Spring 2012)

"A boys high school full of delinquents gets merged with an elite girls high school." (from dramawiki)

I'm not being bias here but I am so proud of the Bakaleya boys. Aside from Morimoto Shintaro and Takaki Yuya, the other five - Lewis Jesse, Matsumura Hokuto, Yugo Kouchi, Kyomoto Taiga, and Tanaka Juri, can all be branded as newbies when Bakaleya was aired. But, they really proved their worth and just put their AKB counterparts in the shadows. I know the Cattleya girls are fairly new as well since they are the younger ones in AKB48 that time but the Bakaleya boys are not even debuted idols yet. The AKB girls didn't overact this time, but they were lacking in emotions instead. I can forgive that since they are new to acting but I hope I don't see the awkwardness in their faces while trying to convey emotions. Paruru is one to note on this, she's so awkward, even she just simply walking felt awkward. On another note, the story is nice because it isn't just all angst. It has a core which I think Majisuka Gakuen somehow lacks in. I love the cast, of course. Too much eyecandy we have here. I actually hope there's more opportunity for AKB48 and Johnnys to collaborate like this and with great plots of course, we need that. P.S. I love the theme song Shake It Up!

GTO 2012 (Summer 2012)

"Through the introduction of his friend Danma Ryuji, Onizuka Eikichi, the former legendary bike gang member, visits Meishu Academy to tend to the trees in the garden as a part-time gardener. Learning that Yoshikawa Noboru, a student in teacher Fuyutsuki Azusa's class is being bullied by Uehara Kyoko and other classmates, Onizuka befriends and saves Yoshikawa. Seeing Onizuka's unprecedented but visceral, powerful response to problem solving, the school's president and principal Sakurai Yoshiko, overrides resistance from her vice principal Uchiyamada Hiroshi and makes Onizuka a teacher. Onziuka goes on to tackle many issues as the teacher in charge of the most problematic class, Class 2-4." (from dramawiki)

I haven't watched this one, and I don't know why. Lol. The cast is interesting enough to encourage me to watch this since we have Takimoto Miori, Yamamoto Yusuke, Shirota Yu, Takada Sho, Morimoto Shintaro, Nishiuchi Mariya, Honda Tsubasa, Nakagawa Taishi, and Yamada Yuki. I should really prioritize this one. Maybe the reason why I haven't watched this is my lingering bitterness feeling. Why? It's because the first choice to be Onizuka was Akanishi Jin but because he was suspended that time for his shotgun marriage, he couldn't get the part. The tour he was supposed to have that time was already cancelled, why did the drama had to be cancelled as well? Now, I really miss Jin acting. :( That aside, I'm still looking forward to watching this remake.

Kasuka na Kanojo (Spring 2013)

"Junior high school teacher Kamiyama Akira has the ability to sense ghosts, and his new school has a ghost named Akane who used to be a teacher." (from dramawiki) Note: Akane is not really at school though, she's a ghost in Akira's new apartment.

This drama is very entertaining, it's not just repeat scenarios with a teacher dealing with students at their rebellious age. I guess the aspect that makes it more engaging is the presence of the ghost stuff, it adds not only comedy but most importantly mystery, that provides more foundation to the story. This is very interesting for me as well because of the familiar members of the cast. I really adore Katori Shingo's portrayal of Akira, and I love him more than ever after watching this drama. Maeda Atsuko's acting has improved a lot and I'm happy she's getting enough acting roles so she can improve her acting more. Anne, however, has always been awkward for me. She may be getting a lot of praise from others, her acting is okay, but there's something about her that irks me and I feel awkward watching her. I'm happy Morimoto Shintaro, Iwahashi Genki, Jinguji Yuta, Honoka Miki, Hirose Suzu and Yamamoto Maika are part of the class. I almost hated Yamamoto Maika with the role she portrays but I guess my liking to her (which she gained when I watched the drama 49) is enough to hold my anger. And, I'm so proud of her because it just means she can take on various roles effectively. Matsui Kenta is a discovery for me, he's such an ikemen in the making! I'm looking forward to the future projects of the students in this drama, they're all so young and have bright futures!

35-sai no Koukousei (Spring 2013)

"Yonekura Ryoko plays a  35-year old woman who mysteriously goes back to high school as a student." (from dramawiki)

A pretty rare scenario where an adult shares time with teens but not as a teacher but also a student like them. This drama has a mystery to it too and the interactions between Yonekura Ryoko's and Mizobata Junpei's roles are quite fun and interesting. Great members of the class as well - Kojima Fujiko, Shinkawa Yua, Suda Masaki, Nishii Yukito, Nomura Shuhei, Hirose Alice, Morikawa Aoi, and Yamazaki Kento(who is currently storming dramas and films with his charm). They are around 2 to 3 years older than the class members in Kasuka na Kanojo so this is a more experienced batch.

Kamen Teacher (Summer 2013)

"20XX. The teachers are no longer allowed to mete out corporal punishment and disciplinary actions. Due to that, the teachers have lots their powers, and the students are now all running wild. In order to correct the situation, the government decides to put in place a program to control the delinquent students by dispatching special teachers to schools across the nation. One of them is Araki Gota, on whom the government pin their hopes that under this Kamen(Masked) teacher program, he will be able to reign in all the delinquent students in his class.

Gota's new assignment is Kakuu Gakuin's Year 2 Class C, where the students are violent and out of control. The class is ruled by M4, a group of four students led by Takehara Kinzo. On his first day, even though he is punched and kicked by M4, Gota refuses to retaliate in kind. He doesn't want to rely on the power of the mask, but rather, he wants to win the trust of the students so that they can communicate freely with him.

However, the students in his classare so unruly and violent that in the end he still has to resort to the mask in order to control them. To change another person, will it be strength? Or heart?" (from dramawiki)

The uniqueness this time is that our lead is a masked teacher. I haven't watched this one yet, so at present, I have no idea on how our masked teacher will help the students but I would like to give this drama a try to find out for myself. Love the cast too, Fujigaya Taisuke and Oomasa Aya acting together again. Kikuchi Fuma, Lewis Jesse, Kyomoto Taiga, and Kishi Yuta, these babies who are actually not babies anymore are part of the cast as well! We have Maeda Goki and one of my favorites from the younger generation, Yamamoto Maika.

GTO 2014 (Summer 2014)

"Onizuka Eikichi goes from Meishu Academy in Kichijoji to his alma mater Tsujido High School in his hometown of Shonan. Tsujido High School has gone under the umbrella of Meishu Academy and Onizuka is dispatched on a temporary basis. This time, various difficult problems such as a pregnant female high school student, a truant student who makes light of life, a male stalker and radical images happen to him. Onizuka's unknown past is also finally revealed as he meets people who know about his past again." (from dramawiki)

The students are not as established as the one from GTO 2012, I could say a lot of them are still newbies, it would be great if they carried out their roles well. Of course, I haven't watched this one either, but I'm taking note that Horii Arata, Kikuchi Fuma, Ryusei Ryo, and Miyoshi Ayaka, are the ones I'm familiar with among the students. Miyoshi Ayaka was great in Lost Days, so I want to see how she was with this one.

Majisuka Gakuen 4 (Winter 2014)

"Majisuka High is an all-girls school that is full of delinquents and is constructed of dysfunctional classrooms that have no discipline whatsoever. There is constant physical fighting within the school, walls sprayed with graffiti, and students take naps on the littered floors of the school. But here in this jungle, a group of girls called the "Rappapa" are the claimed leaders as they have won their position by fist.  Being the strongest in fist fights is indeed the social currency at this deteriorating school. The leader of the Rappapa pack is Salt; she reigns as the queen of the chaotic  hierarchy. But one day, a new student, Sakura is transferred to Majisuka High with an aim to overthrow Salt and take over the school. At first glance, she she looks like a student who would make the honor roll, vulnerable, and easily beatable. Yet, when the second year groupie, Team Hinabe, picks a fight with her, they found out that she is someone who should not be trifled with at all!" (from dramawiki)

Same thoughts as what I stated for Majisuka Gakuen 2. I know most of the girls are fairly young, because a lot from the older generation already graduated from the group. I just hope Paruru's acting is not as awkward anymore!

Note: I'm not including Majisuka Gakuen 3 in here because it's not even set in a school. It has a different setting.

Gakkou no Kaidan (Winter 2015)

"Haruna Tsubame, an inconspicuous high school girl, is always sensitive to people's moods and keeps the peace in school. One day, she gets pushed to become the president of the student council by the people around her. Tsubame's encounterwith a man who is a genius speechwriter, leads to a revolution in school. She struggles to change a school full of irrationality and dissatisfaction with the power of words." (from dramawiki)

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you, one of the best dramas in Winter 2015! XD :) Kamiki Ryunosuke sure learned a lot from his mentor Sakurai Sho who played the role of Yoshimoto Koya in Kazoku Game. Though the similarities are there, Kamiki has put his touch to it and made it his own. I commend Kamiki for remembering all those long lines when this is not even a detective drama which usually has long lines! I applaud Hirose Suzu as well for that. The two really did well! They have so much chemistry together! And how I hope these two make another drama together that centers more on romance! This drama really showcased both of their talents though. I'm so shipping this pairing! And, how can Hirose Suzu be so pretty? Lol. But really, everyone should watch this drama and go crazy! XD :)

This isn't done yet, but I'll be publishing it early. I'll finish and update it later this day after I take a nap, I'm lacking in sleep.. so yeah. Later! Done! Whew! That was long! If you are reading this until this part, thank you so much! :)

Japanese singles and albums (Part 3 of 3)

From the first post:
"23 Japanese singles/albums and counting! Today, I'm sharing a picture I took of my precious CD collection. One may say 23 is just a small number but these are Japanese CDs, and yes, they are not cost effective. :( Btw, I'm a poor lady barely surviving every day. XD

I started collecting Japanese singles and albums 5 years ago as I entered the fandom I'm in until now, and which I don't think I'm leaving anytime soon. I would love to buy more from more artists/musicians but I guess I have to work harder and earn more money, but let's not talk about that anymore. Money matters is such a pain after all.

I would just like to boast share what these 23 albums and singles are, though you can pretty much see their titles on the picture. Along the way, I'll put my thoughts in the singles/albums as well."

I'll proceed first with the CD at the down-most part of the box, then go upwards until the CD in the uppermost part. To avoid a very long post, I'll split the supposedly one post in to three. Before proceeding to the 3rd part, you may want to read 2nd part, it's here. In this last part, I'm going to share my thoughts about the last eight CDs from the box you can see above.

Arashi single Monster Regular Edition

I'm planning to sell my regular edition CDs then use the money to buy a limited edition copy, but I'm not planning of letting go of this one. This is my first Japanese CD ever, and of course, it holds a special place in my heart. To be honest, Monster is not one of my favorite songs from Arashi but since this really has a sentimental value because my collection started with this one, I'm really not letting it go.

Arashi Troublemaker single Regular Edition

Not one of my favorite singles as well and i'm actually planning to sell it someday if i can find a limited edition copy. Yes, I still plan to buy the limited edition even if it's not my favorite since I want to complete the Arashi discography. Ikr. It'll be hard, and I will be poorer. Lol.

Arashi One Love single Limited Edition

This one is secondhand like my Hey! Say! JUMP's Your Seed copy. I've been searching for this and for Love So Sweet as well! Anyone has a limited edition of Love So Sweet out there? :) Really love this song, good to be sung at a wedding but attendants won't understand if they don't know the language. Lol.

Arashi LOVE album Limited Edition

I was pretty surprised with the packaging, it's different from the previous ones. Well, it's Arashi so there are surprises here and there, of course. I'll admit I haven't listened to this album faithfully. By faithfully, I mean, I'm very familiar with all the songs already. My most favorite song from this has got be Endless Game.

SPYAIR Beautiful Days single Limited Edition

I was supposed to have SPYAIR's Samurai Heart (Some Like It Hot!) single but limited edition was not available anymore by the time I ordered. :( The limited edition has SPYAIR on the cover while the regular edition has the anime Gintama on the cover. I didn't want the regular edition because I haven't really watched the anime, and I want SPYAIR!!! I have already paid for it so I just told the seller to get me the next SPYAIR single which will be released in 2 months, so I got this. It's not like I don't want this though, I want them both. But, Samurai Heart is my all-time favorite SPYAIR single so I'm sad about not having a copy until now. :(

Arashi Beautiful World album Limited Edition

My favorites from this album are Mada Minu Sekai e and Sakurai Sho's solo Kono Mama Motto. Kono Mama Motto is my most favorite solo song by Sho! It just feels so sweet! I love the CD jacket and the pamphlet or whatever it's called. Lol, I know the term but I forgot so I'm settling with the pamphlet.

Arashi Popcorn album Limited Edition

This is special! This was released on my birthday October 31, so the dreamy me treated it as a birthday gift from Arashi to me! I didn't get my copy on the exact date though, it was delayed. Lol. My favorites are Welcome to Our Party, Face Down, Wild at Heart and Sakurai Sho's solo Fly on Friday! Yes, Sho's solos are my favorites for two consecutive albums because they are nice!

Arashi Ura Ara Mania compilation album Limited Edition

This is the most expensive, I can't remember exactly how much but it was really so expensive! Well, we can't expect it to be cheap, there are 4 CDs with 62 songs in total! This was released to commemorate AraFes or Arashi Festival concert. Definitely, a must have for Arashi fans out there! But, isn't everything Arashi is a must have? XD :)

That's it! I finally finished this 3-part commentary of my Japanese singles and albums collection. I love seeing others posting their fandom stuff too! Oh well, about my fandom stuff, they are not that much but it's hard to get them all in one picture. XD I'll try to post a picture of them someday! No promises though!

Japanese singles and albums (Part 2 of 3)

From the first post:
"23 Japanese singles/albums and counting! Today, I'm sharing a picture I took of my precious CD collection. One may say 23 is just a small number but these are Japanese CDs, and yes, they are not cost effective. :( Btw, I'm a poor lady barely surviving every day. XD

For this second part, I'll talk about the next eight singles from the box which you can see in the photo.

Hey! Say! JUMP Over single Limited A Edition

I'm just too glad I have a copy of this one, this was the last single Hey! Say! JUMP released with the participation of former member Morimoto Ryutaro. :( And the title just have to be Over? :( Hah! I hope Johnny is somehow repenting about his decision to cut out Ryutaro from the group, Ryutaro has grown into a fine young man! He recently joined twitter and started uploading videos on YouTube! He's so good looking! Aaaahhhhh! The baby of JUMP has grown into an ikemen! It's just sad that while Ryutaro is still part of this single, he was suspended the day before it was released. Shame on you, tabloid writers who wrote about Ryutaro that time! I hate you forever! Don't tell me that it's because you're worried because he was still a minor that time and that this might influence fans who are also minors, you just want money! That's all there is to it! If you were really worried about him, you could have done something else. You're adults, don't be such a sly! Ikr. I should just make a separate about this. Lol. Sorry, my feelings just came out.

Arashi Wild at Heart Limited Edition

This is such a fun song! This was used as themes song for Matsumoto Jun's drama Lucky Seven. I really like the cover of this one. The choreography is so jolly, but unlike, Hey! Say! JUMP's Come On A My House, I really like this one. Or maybe I'm just bias? Lol.

Hey! Say! JUMP Super Delicate single Limited A Edition

This was used as theme song for Risou no Musuko which starred Hey! Say! JUMP members Yamada Ryosuke and Nakajima Yuto. I really like the song, but, I didn't quite like the drama. I've read some comments and some fans have positive feedback about the drama, but it seems quite off to me. Call me weird or whatever, but I didn't really enjoy the drama that much. Risou no Musuko may just be the drama that Yamada Ryosuke starred in which I like the least. I know it's comedy, but there's just too much comedy, it didn't quite bring out the talent the actors have in them. And the comedy was just too boring for me.
But yes, I like Super Delicate. :D

Yamada Ryosuke Mystery Virgin single Limited A Edition

I'm so proud of my ichiban in Hey! Say! JUMP for having debuted solo with this single! However, while I'm so proud of him, it doesn't mean I would support all at once if ever he decides to leave Hey! Say! JUMP and go completely solo. I'm just glad that he really loves Hey! Say! JUMP so much that he was actually bothered and confused when he learned that he's releasing a single alone. When I've read about Yamada's and the other members' thoughts in magazine interviews, I was too touched because there is just too much love between them! I believe that Yamada's love for Hey! Say! JUMP will make him stick with the group through thick and thin, and I believe he's not that selfish to just leave them behind. (I'm rolling my eyes here for Jin and YamaPi lol but I still love them both)

D☆DATE 1st Date album Limited Edition

This is my first and only D☆DATE CD as of now. This was released when Yanagishita Tomo was still not added to the group, and Igarashi Shunji haven't retired yet from the entertainment industry. Come on, is he really not coming back? :( I really like this album, and I want to support them more if I'll have a more flexible budget in the future. I hope they will have more releases and they can have concerts in the bigger arenas!

Arashi Boku no Miteiru Fukei album Regular Edition

Nothing much to say about this one, but it was my first Arashi album. :) I wanted to have the limited edition but it was not available anymore by then. :( I'm still eyeing to buy the limited edition even secondhand, if someone out there decides to sell their copy at a reasonable price. That's if I have money by that time though. Lol. My favorite song in this album has to be "My Girl" which was used for Aiba Masaki's drama with the same title. I really like Come Back to Me by Matsumoto Jun as well! But, actually I like all the songs! XD :)

Hey! Say! JUMP Hitomi ni Screen single Limited Edition

Hitomi no Screen was one of the first Hey! Say! JUMP songs I heard and liked. I love the dance steps for the song as well. Hey! Say JUMP looks very sexy and cool on the jacket cover! Hitomi no Screen was used as theme song for Yamada Ryosuke's drama Hidarime Tantei Eye.

Hey! Say! JUMP JUMP NO. 1 album Regular Edition

I couldn't get the limited edition of this one as well. :( But I'm planning to buy it secondhand as well. XD I have lots of favorite from this album, they are Infinity, Shinku, Ganbaretsugo!, Time, Score, and Your Seed. :)

I'll post the last part later or tomorrow! :)

Japanese singles and albums (Part 1 of 3)

23 Japanese singles/albums and counting!

Along the way, I'll put my thoughts in the singles/albums as well.

I'll proceed first with the CD at the down-most part of the box, then go upwards until the CD in the uppermost part. To avoid a very long post, I'll split these supposedly one post in to three. For this first part, I'll talk about the first seven singles in the box which you can see in the photo.

KiS-MY-FT2 Everybody Go single Limited A and B Editions (Phil. release)

The first two are the Limited A and B versions of the Everybody Go single. These two CDs are my first Kisumai single and until now, the only Kisumai single I have in my collection. I'll be honest and say I can't follow Kisumai that much because Arashi's activities are already too much too handle. XD This is not a Japanese version of the CD but a locally released CD. This is the first ever Japanese CD released locally here in the Philippines, and I couldn't just passed up the chance. A lot of other Japanese singles and albums were released locally after the success of this one. Aside from these two though, all my singles and albums are Japanese versions.

Hey! Say! JUMP Your Seed Limited Edition

This one was released way back in 2008, but I was only able to get a hold of it this April 2015, so yes, this is my most recent buy among all these CDs. This is one of my most favorite Hey! Say! JUMP single, so I've been wanting to have a copy. I bought this secondhand but I'm glad it still looks great. This is such a bargain because it only cost me around 350 pesos in total!

Hey! Say! JUMP Ride With Me Limited A Edition

I like this single very much and even though I was really broke during the time of its release, I somehow found a way to buy it. From here on, I won't tell how much did it cost me to buy the other CDs, I'll just leave it up to your imagination. Lol. I don't even want to remember because it's too much money! XD On another note, this was used as theme song for Kindaichi Shounen no Jikenbo: Gokumon Juku Satsujin Jiken, which starred two Hey! Say! JUMP members, Yamada Ryosuke and Arioka Daiki.

Hey! Say! JUMP Come On A My House Limited A Edition

I can't really say that this single is a favorite but since it's Hey! Say! JUMP, I still like it. The song is an OK song, but maybe the cheerfulness was too much that it couldn't really please me that much?

Arashi Endless Game Limited Edition

In 2013, I decided to only buy Arashi singles which will be used for Matsumoto Jun's drama since he is my most favorite member. It's not that I wouldn't like to buy the other singles but they are releasing too much, and my budget couldn't keep up. So I don't know what happened, I just realized I already pre-ordered this single back then. No regrets though, it's a very much likable song. It was used as theme song for one of the best Japanese dramas of 2013 which is Kazoku Game.

Hey! Say! JUMP Arigatou Sekai no Doko ni Itemo Limited Edition

This is a favorite because how can I resist a Hey! Say! JUMP talking in my local language?! It may be brief, but since they are singing their gratitude to other parts of the world, part of the lyrics are the Filipino words "Salamat po", which translates to "Thank you". Personally, I like the jacket cover of the regular edition more but I still opted to buy the limited edition. It's limited edition after all. XD

That's it for now. Please check out Part 2 once I've posted it as well. :) Part 2 is here! :)

As I've already made a list of Japanese actors and actresses who are on Instagram here, I decided to make a list of those who are in Twitter as well. I know I'll be missing a lot on this list but that just means I didn't know they have a Twitter account or I'm not fond of that certain actor or actress. List of Completed Shoujo Romance Mangas (As of April 2015)

Hi! I’ll present here in this post a list of completed shoujo romance mangas. Of course, they are mangas which I have read and somehow liked. I have another post of ongoing shoujo mangas here. I will update on that and this post whenever a manga in the list gets completed/finished, but please don't expect much on how fast I can update posts. I'm often hit by laziness, tbh.

This list won’t include:
- the classics, mangas that were published for over 10 years now, and those which have been adapted into an anime series (e.g. Itazura na Kiss, Bokura ga Ita, Lovely Complex etc.)
- mangas with smut, ecchi, or any adult content stuff, regardless of their demographic and genre.
- one-shots or anything that is completed but has less than 15 chapters.
I might make a list for completed one shots or anything completed that has less than 15 chapters, but it all depends on my motivation to work on it. I'm trying to get a life as well, you know. XD

This list is not arranged on what I favor most or what I've read recently. It is not arranged in any specific order, so please don't try to make it seem like I'm trying to favor any manga with the numbering. I’ll state in my comments if a certain manga is my favorite.

List of completed shoujo mangas

1. Heroine Shikkaku by Koda Momoka

“This could be any girl. Imagine being a heroine of a love story. Hatori also believed that one day she would get married to her childhood friend, Rita. But that's not how the world works! This is a hilarious comedy that honestly paints a painful unrequited love story of this young girl!” – myanimelist.net

I know how frustrating the ending is for most of the readers of this manga, but I would still commend how entertaining it was for me. I’m not that frustrated about the ending though. No, I’m not a fan of Rita. I just know how naive one can be when it comes to love. I guess that’s what Hatori really feels, I wouldn't want an ending which wasn't based on the lead character’s true feelings anyway. It’s not a favorite but it’s an OK manga for me. I would still say to give it a try. Whether you’ll like the ending or not, I guess you can consider it as an example that things don’t always go the way you want them to. In short, acceptance. Lol. My favorite character is Nakajima, btw. You should check her out because she's really awesome! XD

2. Tonari no Atashi by Nanba Atsuko

“Nina's neighbor, Kyousuke, is starting high school while she's still stuck in junior high. Just walking to their nearby schools together isn't enough for her—especially since they keep running into Yuiko: a beautiful, outgoing girl in Kyousuke's grade who also seems to harbor feelings for Nina's next-door neighbor.” - myanimelist.net

I beg to differ from others, but the ending didn't satisfy me. While this is such a relief to those who hate Heroine Shikkaku's ending, it was just too short to satisfy me that Nina should be with Miyake. There's too little of them so I didn't feel like the ending was justified.

3. Ao Haru Ride by Sakisaka Io

"Yoshioka Futaba has a few reasons why she wants to "reset" her image and life as a new high school student. Because she's cute, she was ostracized by her female friends in junior high, and because of a misunderstanding, she couldn't get her feeling across to the one boy she has ever liked, Tanaka-kun.

"Now in high school, she is determined to be as unladylike as possible so that her friends won't be jealous of her. While living her life this way contentedly, she meets Tanaka-kun again, but he now goes under the name of Mabuchi Kou. He tells her that he felt the same way as she did when they were younger, but now things can never be the same again. Will Futaba be able to continue her love that never even started from three years ago?" - myanimelist.net

What I really love about this one is the emotions. It's just full of feelings. And it's not like Kou is just stubborn, I think why he's like that is explained very well. This is a favorite, well ever since I've read Strobe Edge I've been a fan of Sakisaka Io-sensei. It may be cliche, but it still is unique in its own way. It was a great read for me as it just triggered all inner feelings.

4. Strobe Edge by Sakisaka Io

"Having no experience in romance, the vibrant Ninako curiously explores the meaning of what "love" really is, and is surprised to feel a colorful range of emotions as she grows closer to the school heartthrob, the quiet yet gentle Ren, who also happens to be involved in a longtime relationship. With every intention of keeping her head held high, Ninako prepares to face the mental pain of this one-sided love that she had allowed to take root, facing a series of trials that would either contribute to her growth as a headstrong woman, or break her as it did with other girls.

However, is this really a one-sided love? Or had something been silently sown in the most hidden part of Ren's heart?" - myanimelist.net

This manga just ruined my beliefs. Lol. I've always thought if the one you like is already in a relationship, then you should just let them be. Though I was pretty hesitant at first, I found myself cheering for Ninako to be with Ren. I want to explain where I'm coming from with my comments but I don't want to be a spoiler so I'll leave it at that. :)

5. Hirunaka no Ryusei by Yamamori Mika

"15-year-old country girl, Suzume Yosano, has to move to Tokyo to live with her uncle due to her father's transfer. She bumps into a mysterious man who ends up taking her to her uncle's place after she gets lost. Turns out, Suzume will be seeing him a lot more often once she starts school because... he's her homeroom teacher!?" - myanimelist.net

From the start, I can't cheer for a teacher-student relationship, sorry Shishio! Team Mamura all the way! You might get a hint on who Suzume will end up with based on my next statements, so please read at your own discretion. I already knew who Suzume's going to be with after reading until the 70+ chapters because they just spent so much time together in the story. Some readers hate the obvious, but I didn't come to hate it at all because like I said, they spent so much time together, and somehow it just felt like they already deserve each other with everything that happened.

6. Taiyou no Ie by Taamo

"Back in the day, that place was a house filled with magic—a place where you ended up smiling even if you were crying. Surely, an invisible wizard must have lived there. Or so I thought."

What's a young child to do when her mother leaves her father for another man? Or when her father remarries a woman who brings along a child from a previous marriage? Or when her childhood neighbor friend invites her to live with him?" - myanimelist.net

What I found good in this manga is that the lead characters actually has problems aside from their love lives. It was troubling because there is awkwardness between family members. It's not like Ao Haru Ride that is full of emotions, I guess this one is full of awkwardness? Lol. The one I'm cheering for to be with Mao(the heroine), didn't end up with her but it's fine. I still love the story. :)

7. AAA by Fukushima Haruka

"Ogata Aoi is in her 2nd year of middle school and is the president of the student council. The middle school she attends is one of the best in the country and is called "AAA". Aoi goes there to meet her first love, but after a surprising meeting, she's finding out that her first love is a gang leader in the neighbor school, called "CCC" (lowest level). Maybe it's only a coincidence that that gang leader and her first love have the same name since they look completely different from each other, but now, Aoi wants to find more about this person...." - myanimelist.net

This one didn't really trigger emotions on me that much but it was such a cute and nice-feel read. The leads were cute, the story was equally cute.

8. Suki desu Suzuki-kun! by Ikeyamada Go

"The story of the manga centers on four classmates who just entered the same junior high school together. On the first day of school, a boy named Hikaru Suzuki sees a talented girl named Sayaka performing lines from a drama on the school's rooftop, and he cannot take his eyes off her. Even as Hikaru becomes interested in Sayaka, his longtime friend Chihiro secretly pines for him. On top of that, a boy named Shinobu Suzuki — no relation to Hikaru — is falling for Chihiro. " - myanimelist.net

It seems this one ended satisfactorily but I can't tell since the translations are not finished yet even though the manga was finished in 2012. :( The lead pairing is the Sayaka and Hikaru pair, but I get more excited with Chihiro and Shinobu's pair! I would love to know how they'll be together! I know they will, I believe so! This is not a spoiler since I don't know about the ending either. This is just me hoping! Lol.

9. Bokura wa Itsumo

"Nori Sakurada is riding her bike one day, when she meets up with a boy she used to know when she was little. He has grown, but doesn't look very happy..." - myanimelist.net

I like the story but the release of translations is too slow. The serialization was until 2013 but like Suki desu Suzuki-kun, the translations are not yet done. :(

10. Dengeki Daisy by Motomi Kyousuke

"Before he died, Kurebayashi Teru's brother gave her only a cell phone, telling her to contact "Daisy" if she ever needs someone to talk to. Now, even though she lives alone and without relatives, Teru never feels lonely because Daisy is her constant confidant and supporter.

In order to pay off a debt, Teru finds herself needing to work for the rude, inconsiderate, and abusive (not to mention quite handsome) school janitor, Kurosaki Tasuku. While her predicament seems on the opposite spectrum of her relationship with Daisy, maybe Teru's two different worlds are more closely connected than she thought?" - myanimelist.net

There were times the couple was a pain and just annoying. I felt awkward in some parts, but it's still good and I want Daisy for myself. Lol.

Note: The statements after the premises are just my opinions. If you have a different opinion from mine, I respect them but please let's not make war over the Internet. Whether we like a manga or not, it all comes down to our personal preferences after all. Thank you.
